So What is Aiken Really Like?

For those of you who have been reading Sarah and I’s posts about Aiken, and preparing for it. The time has come! We are both in Aiken, stabling and living together (let’s hope we don’t get on each other’s nerves!)

The drive: As it was last year took us 10 hours, we made three quick stops, where we gave the horses water, fueled up and walked the dogs. We even beat team Clasing to the barn. HAHAHAHA

Moving in: Personally, we had over 100 bags of feed crammed into our trailer as well as tack and everything else. And the tack room looks like a bit of a war zone right now because we don’t have enough room for everyone’s stuff!

The town: I love Aiken, I love maria’s, I love the Kroger, I love Atlanta bread. Everything in Aiken is just so.. great! But Maria’s is the hallmark restaurant for eventers. You can have an entire meal for under $10.. Really.

The weather: While you guys have been weathering through the snow it was warm enough for a long sleeve polo shirt today, a little windy, but I’m not complaining!

I’ll have some Maria’s for you!

Emily
